Eric Falstrom

polar bear submerged in iced river looking for food; bird trying to
obtain money with singer Jenny Lind on 50 Euro note: singing and/or
prophesying for income; "singing for supper" with regard to accounts
and teachings of The Bible and Jerusalem: the ancient food bowl;
cascades below representing how generations are influenced by each
other through singing voices, past and present; growth and new plants
amidst; more of my favorite fruit (strawberries)

Painting as climbing, rendering an ascent to higher dwelling; in
between realms (home, icy/rocky wilderness with waterfall, spring
field, under water); "to be a star"

I am one who is open to try different things.
I see that I can love myself. I can be a friend to myself.
I am my own friend. I have two sides to myself.
I have a womanly side and a manly side.

Eric Falstrom

trying to illustrate unforgiveness: church with clock for steeple to
represent source and duration of unforgiveness amidst rushing current;
bird catching bee as trying to ascertain truth (honey frequently used
as metaphor for truth in Bible); growth upon growth but not from or
for each other (above), perception of where home is turned on its
side; red line as impassable "red tape" blocking access to
forgiveness; more sea glass as example that forgiveness/redemption is
proper way of nature

Eric Falstrom

eyes representing endless feeling of being watched anonymously by
disapproving mass, paralyzed and frozen in fear from sensation of it;
immobilized by fear-based thinking and inability to imagine/ discern
what is expected in order to be loved and accepted; one main large eye
on far right; background representing peaceful terrains commonly
sought for relief: deep blue tranquility, green forest, and dream of
camping in Canada's lakes and forests in Summertime

birthday card for dear friend with common sorrows, passion for faith
and church (flame of flowers behind); how she inspires joy in music
(smiling piano keyboard); the sky of open freedom she manifests
enabling me to exit my cage of fear inside; "2" refers to both her age
in decade and also how we regularly gather in Christ's name (Matthew
18:20); more peaceful terrains sought for relief; dark background to
recall time at museum and planetarium

cosmetic mirror reflecting addition of goats representing stubbornness
of self-worship and/or self-obsession, the subconscious pagan-ish
perception of creation in pop culture; left and right eyes represent
before and after: one on left looking hopefully into vanity as
self-discovery, one on right subsequently dissillusioned by its
emptiness; many blocked this way and on this road through life; guy
making "O" just to mimic the shape of the cosmetic mirror; inclusion
of strawberries because they're my favorite fruit
